General Hospital Spoilers: Is Cody Ready to Replace Mac Scorpio? Fans Are Divided

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that​ Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) came to PC with a checkered past and kept on lying even when he knew better. When he found out he was Mac Scorpio’s (John J. York) son he sat on the truth rather than face reality simply because it was easier for him.

That situation has been settled for a long time, but Cody still has an irascible streak. On the July 16 episode Cody stepped forward for his family and it could mark a turning point in his evolution.

Have we seen the last of the old Cody Bell?

Cody Bell’s Turning Point

Cody is wild about James West (Gary James Fuller) and the boy needed to hear a hard truth about his father, the late Nathan West. Ironically, it was Cody who volunteered to be the messenger of bad news even though he knew it could ruin their relationship.

First of all, the boy’s parents Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) should have told him. That’s neither here nor there at this point, and the next logical candidate would have been grandma Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner) who delivered James to Cody for the poison pill.

Is Cody the New Mac?

Cody told Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos) that he knew James might blame him for the news, and he was ready for it.

The old Cody wouldn’t have even volunteered to be in the same state as James if he knew the outcome of their talk.

But Cody did what no one else was willing or able to.

Will James Hate Cody?

Cody told James that Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) impersonated Nathan and made a big mistake but that he loved him even though he lied to him.
James is just a kid and wasn’t ready to hear all of this. James told Cody he hated him and that broke the cowboy’s heart.

Mac should be very proud of his son and heartened to know that he is a chip off the old block.
