He believes that his family’s cache and Brooke Logan Forrester’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) love justify his two most recent actions.
Telling Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) that she had to break up with Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) was an implied threat. While he didn’t say it directly, Ridge appeared to be saying that if Electra didn’t end her relationship with Will, then her future with Forrester Creations was in jeopardy.
In his defense, Ridge is serving as Electra’s paternal figure because her father isn’t in Los Angeles, California. He also offered sincere compassion when speaking with her at home.
Will is no different than RJ Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti). Well, okay, Will knows how to throw punches, and RJ doesn’t. But beyond that, their personalities and backgrounds are very similar.
These cousins aren’t fond of each other. Their mutually shared hope not to have the same type of contentiousness as their fathers had for each other wasn’t realized.
To his discredit, RJ has been bad-mouthing Will for months, hit on Electra, took advantage of their past breakup, and pressured his parents to fire Morrow’s character. So, no one can say that Will is the bad guy and RJ is an angel.
RJ apparently wasn’t taught self-defense skills. While Will did sucker punch his cousin at Bikini Bar weeks ago, injuring his ribs, RJ should have responded better to the next physical attack.
Intruding into Will’s beach house was a provocation. But Will wasn’t justified in punching RJ in the face and then following with multiple head shots.
RJ could pursue a police complaint. If he’s serious about Will being a bad guy, then why not prove it by asking for a criminal record to be documented?
Ridge was outraged that Will punched RJ, but then he went to Logan and landed a punch on Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) right cheek. Credit to B&B’s makeup department for the apparent application of rouge, which made Bill’s bruise look realistic.
Like Will and RJ, Electra is learning the ropes in life. Rather than being pushed onto them, as the young men who are jostling for her heart are doing, she’s trying to think her way out of this latest dilemma.
Having lost her first love, Electra is out of sorts and needs time to process all that’s happened. So, it’s best if she lives apart from Will in the short-term and decides what next steps are best for her.
She won’t stop loving Will immediately, and it will be interesting to see if she also distances herself from RJ. Rather than live with the Forresters, Electra should get her own apartment and also decide if working for the family business is best.
