General Hospital Spoilers: Old Sparks Fly As Anna And Valentin Reconnect – Carly Blindsided?

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal old lovers will reunite this week on the ABC soap. With Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) back in town, does Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) have to worry about losing Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart)?

Valentin Had An Anna Obsession For Many Years

Valentin had an Anna obsession for many years, they knew each other even before Anna met and married Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers)!

The subject of Anna has disturbed Carly before-when he wanted to go to France and free her from the mental health clinic, but other priorities became more important.

Still, it was obvious he was grieved by Ross Cullum’s (Andrew Hawkes) gaslighting of Anna, sadly telling Carly that Cullum had broken her.

Carly had to remind him that finding Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and freeing her from the WSB, and revenge on Jack Brennan (Chris L.  McKenna) was more important!

But that never stopped Valentin from worrying about Anna, and it killed him inside thinking of what had been done to her.

Valentin And Anna Were Broken Up For Several Years

Valentin and Anna were broken up for several years, by the time Valentin and Carly got together-it was a sad and tragic breakup; Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) had been acting out.

Charlotte had only very recently returned home to Port Charles after living with her grandfather Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) who’d given her tarot cards.

He had taught her to use them for hypnosis, and was blackmailing Valentin to do his bidding because he had Charlotte, and she’d burned down Anna’s house!

Before it was all over, Charlotte had broken into Anna’s old apartment and was looking through a bunch of old files, and Anna, thinking she was an enemy, shot her!

Anna broke up with Valentin not because he had rejected her over Charlotte’s shooting but because she couldn’t forgive herself-and Charlotte couldn’t share her papa.

No One Knows Anna As Well Or For As Long As Valentin

No one knows Anna as well or for as long as Valentin, and he may feel like he may need to help her come back to herself.

If anyone can tell that Anna’s not as recovered as she pretends, he can, and he’s not going to refuse to rescue her from herself and the gaslighting she’s suffered.

Carly, no doubt will feel threatened by his desire to be Anna’s hero-she may even compare it to Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) compulsion to rescue Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen)!

But it’s doubtful that Anna and Valentin would become lovers again, based on Charlotte’s reactions to Valentin wanting to all move in together-the problem is, might Charlotte now react the same way to Carly?
