The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Mariah’s Release Blindsides Devon – Dominic’s Dad Goes Off the Rails?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will soon be a free woman, so that news is sure to shake things up.

Devon Winters (Bryton James) will have to process what this means for his family, so his anger issues could explode all over again.

Last month on Y&R, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) was thrilled over Mariah’s progress and filled Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) in after a phone conversation with her daughter.

Sharon pointed out that Mariah was set to have a meeting the following week to discuss the possibility of her release. Although that meeting was just a preliminary development, it still gave Sharon some hope.

Sharon acknowledged that a judge still needed to sign off before Mariah could make her release official and finally come home.

However, it’s obvious that Mariah is doing well and that she’s on the verge of getting discharged from her psychiatric facility.

Based on behind-the-scenes hints, Mariah will indeed score her freedom in the coming weeks. It looks like Mariah will return to roaming around Genoa City sometime between now and August.

That’ll inevitably bring some awkward encounters with Devon, Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) and Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark).

Of course, Dominic doesn’t really understand the whole kidnapping situation, so he still loves and misses Mariah. All Dominic knows is that Mariah has been sick and has needed some time away to get better.

Dominic will probably be ecstatic to see Mariah back in town, but Devon will just want her to stay away from his son.

There’s a good chance Devon’s anger will bubble back up, especially if he doesn’t receive a warning about Mariah’s release.

We won’t be surprised if Devon gets blindsided for drama’s sake. It’ll be even harder for Devon to see Mariah walking around free if he’s not prepared for it.

Regardless, Devon may not be ready to forgive Mariah for her actions yet. Although Devon was able to dial down his rage somewhat during their last discussion, it could come roaring back soon enough.

Devon has been struggling over the fact that Mariah didn’t get a real punishment for abducting Dominic.

Seeing Mariah get out of her mental health facility so soon after entering treatment may add to Devon’s frustration.

Although Mariah’s loved ones will be excited to have her back, Devon may go off the rails a bit.

It’s easy to imagine Devon getting in Mariah’s face and making it crystal clear that he doesn’t want her anywhere near Dominic – no matter how rehabilitated her doctors claim she is.
