Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) had a moment with Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang), but it was calculated. Brooke acknowledged that her husband wouldn’t elevate her to Steffy’s position. So, she pivoted.
Brooke asked Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) if he could do one thing for her. He did it, speaking to Steffy about reinstating Hope for the Future. Why that’s Steffy’s sole call involves part of this soapy plot.
The title co-CEO means a power share. It is equal, with Ridge and Steffy making a joint decision. There haven’t been many stalemates, and there isn’t one on this issue.
Like Steffy, Ridge believes that company resources can’t be allocated to HFTF right now because of the focus on Couture. That choice is understandable because the company needs to turn around the negative but fading media splash about Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) Logan collection.
The above happens by having FC’s next line, which are Eric’s creations, pushed to market. Yes, the public was all over the family tension the co-founder created when his work was used by an upstart rival. But all eyes will be on his next collection, which is why Ridge and Steffy are pushing all their chips in that direction.
Hope has a business decision to make as well. As was true with Katie Logan Spencer (Heather Tom), Noelle’s character rightly believes that her efforts and talent are being dismissed.
Katie had a great and unexpected opportunity handed to her. Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) beautiful wedding gift expressed his love and belief in Katie’s untapped potential.
So, it follows that Katie, more than anyone at FC, except Brooke and Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz), recognizes what Hope can do. Scoring this next acquisition from the Forrester’s family business will be as huge or even larger than Eric’s designs were.
Brooke made a shrewd move when sending Steffy a congratulatory text. She appeared to be magnanimous.
But Hope’s anticipated departure from FC will create a reaction. Brooke won’t be inclined to blame Ridge because he wasn’t the last person to tell Hope no or refuse to offer a restart date for her line. That was Steffy.
So, viewers can anticipate Steffy and Brooke’s truce to be extremely short-lived. She will blame Hope’s exit on Steffy, with Katie receiving backlash that will make what’s happened to date seem mild.
The growing Logan contingent will be overjoyed. Zende then seems likely to follow Hope out the Coutured door.
