General Hospital’s Alexa Havins Bruening Hints At Dante & Lulu Reunion

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu Spencer had an explosive confrontation during the Monday, May 11 episode.

Dante finally learned the truth about Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) shooting WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and approached his ex-wife about why she failed to keep him in the loop.

Lulu’s portrayer, Alexa Havins Bruening, recently spoke with Soap Opera Digest (SOD), teasing that despite this fallout, Lulu and Dante could be headed for a reunion.

Lante’s History

General Hospital spoilers note that Lulu and Dante were once the “It” couple of Port Charles.

For years, they dazzled GH fans with their sizzling romance, and while they were on the cusp of a reunion in 2020, sadly, Lulu fell into a coma for four years.

She awakened just as Dante’s fiancé at the time, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), lost her life, and as he was grieving her death, their relationship remained at co-parenting status.

Plus, there was the secret that Lulu kept from him some months later: the fact that she knew Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) was his unknown son with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

Recently, Dante also felt that much more betrayed when Lulu jumped into a romance with someone whom he thinks is his best friend, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).

Of course, Nathan isn’t really Nathan – rather, his evil twin brother, Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey). If Lante were to ever reunite, they’d have a long road ahead to rekindle their romance!

Alexa Havins Bruening Chimes In

Bruening tells SOD that since she arrived at the ABC soap, she has always had a Lante reunion in the back of her mind.

The actress tells the online soap magazine that she’s layered breadcrumbs into her performance that suggest Lulu has never gotten over Dante.

Bruening adds, “I’ll always give him a lingering look or an accidental touch, trying to make sure that the connection between them is alive in our scenes.”

She notes, “Otherwise, it would just be two friends talking, and that’s her first love!”

Bruening believes that even though Lulu and Dante are “done” with each other romantically, she still feels there’s so much more for the former couple to explore.

She says, “… in true soap fashion, we can’t just be together and be happy. It’s got to be the long road, right? We’ve got to have some drama in between!”

Lante Are “Endgame”

Still, the actress believes Dante and Lulu coming back to each other would be “… a beautiful story exploring how, after all these detours and heartaches, these two find their way back to each other.”

She goes on to say, “What a sweet story it would be, especially for their child, Rocco, to reunite that family.

I don’t know if that’s where they’re going, but I always keep that in the back of my mind — that Dante and Lulu are endgame.”
