General Hospital Spoilers: Cameron Mathison Gets Real About His Broken Heart, Divorce, and Kids

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) recently talked to US Weekly ​ about navigating his new normal.

In July of 2024, the General Hospital star shared sad news with fans. He revealed that after 22 years of marriage, he and his wife Vanessa were divorcing.

Just a few months later, in January of 2025, he was one of many celebs affected by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

Cameron Mathison Update

In the interview Mathison candidly discussed his divorce and the aftereffects, including mending his broken heart.

He divulged that it wasn’t his choice to divorce, but today he and Vanessa continue to respect each other as individuals and co-parents.

As to where he is at today, the star says he required time to heal and eventually jumped back into the dating pool.

Drew Cain’s Double Life

Referring to the modern dating scene he said: “The whole app world is new to me. It’s a new world.”

Mathison then spoke about his two kids with Vanessa, Lucas and Leila.

According to him, his son and daughter “feel the friendly relationship” their parents enjoy. He added that he, Lucas and Leila talk about how he makes the effort “to keep a beautiful, loving family” despite the divorce.

Drew Cain in Trouble?

It sounds as if Mathison and his family have a lovely home life, a blissful existence that would be entirely foreign to Drew Cain!

Drew is Mathison’s GH character and one might say he is now paying for all of the horrible antics he’s been a part of over the years.

What Happens Next in PC?

Drew’s wife Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) shot him and when that didn’t work she settled for drugging him into a locked-in state. These days the former congressman is relegated to a wheelchair where he watches his enemies fight in his living room.

Things could change soon however, as he may miss a dose of his paralytic drug meaning he could finally communicate his ordeal.
