Phyllis doesn’t believe the woman she’s long called The Bug, which is based on the pet nickname, Cricket, her true love gave her many years ago.
No doubt, Christine must be thinking that Phyllis is guilty and that the facts will lead to confirming evidence against her.
But the emails the tailored artificial intelligence program Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) paid for aren’t evidence. They are a sham that’s intended to frame Phyllis and put her in jail.
Viewers are wondering how Phyllis and Victor, who both committed a series of crimes, are both going to escape the arm of the law.
Yet, Genoa City, Wisconsin, residents and observers know that what seems probable often doesn’t work out.
Rock On was Danny Romalotti’s (Michael Damian) breakout hit all those soapy years ago on Y&R, and in real life for the actor who portrays him.
The revival tune was catchy, with Christine being taken by his crooning.
Phyllis’ eye was caught by Danny at a concert she attended in New York, where she lived and worked in a laboratory. So, Stafford’s character didn’t live in GC when fans first saw her.
But Phyllis’ interest in Danny wasn’t healthy from the outset. She was in a category that could be called groupies. Then, she took what became an obsession with Danny further.
Phyllis became pregnant after giving Danny drugs and later convinced him that he was the father of her child. This was long before DNA tests were commonplace.
Plus, as devoted viewers recall, the character Stafford first portrayed in 1994 had a background that included lab work. So, she used that backstory to further her scheme.
Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) was born, and that was the bond Phyllis believed would keep Danny tied to her forever.
While that’s proven true, the love she anticipated Danny would develop for her never materialized.
Christine is the love of Danny’s life, with their recent remarriage reaffirming that reality and driving it into Phyllis heart once more.
That’s why Christine’s return to being GC’s District Attorney, at this specific moment in time, is so significant.
It’s implied that Victor influenced the current District Attorney to step down, which facilitated Christine’s return to the public position that she previously held.
It feels unlikely that Phyllis will be convicted and sent to prison for many years to come. The same is true of Victor.
That means the writing staff is crafting a tale that can allow Phyllis and Victor to generally skate free, following a cold Midwestern winter. But both people are guilty.
Phyllis wants to retain the power she stole, and Victor is willing to break various laws to reclaim his throne. So, Christine seems primed to eventually exonerate Phyllis and Victor.

Questions, questions? Originally Cain & Phyllis had the AI program, then when Cain decided to put everything on hold after leading Phyllis on, she went to Victor made a deal for the AI program which everyone knows Victor lies like a rug & double crossed I lost track of the lives he’s destroyed, then Phyllis does to Victor what he did to her, & little spoiled brat Victoria daddy is now super hero & poor poor me, now what goes around has done come around & come around. This story is now beyond ridiculous & I’m sure I’m not the only one of devoted fan feels the frustration. Why does it have to be that Victor hates anyone who takes the other side.
