Erika Kirk Breaks Silence After Tearful Exit From WHCA Dinner

Erika Kirk has chosen to address her thoughts on the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting. In the meantime, she wants you to know that that single act was a solid representation of the evil in America.

How Did Erika Kirk React To WHCA Shooting

If you’re going to a high profile dinner arranged by the White House, you’d probably be thinking that there’s no safer place. But Erika Kirk, 37, would find out that she was wrong.

Merely thirty minutes into the dinner, a gunman managed to sneak past security with a loaded weapon and unleashed fire on the floor below the gathering.

Even though one guard took a bullet to the bulletproof vest and was taken to the hospital to recover, no one suffered any fatal injuries, or was killed from this momentary lapse in security.

However, the chaos that ensued was, of course, one for the books. At the sound of the gunshot, Erika Kirk, whose husband Charlie Kirk was murdered by a gunman just last year, panicked tremendously and dived under the table.

Later, she would be seen being led out of the event, and even though she was surrounded by guards, she was still visibly shaken to the point of tears. Addressing those around her while she exited the event hall, she cried, “I just want to go home.”

Erika Kirk Promises To Speak Out On Traumatic White House Dinner

A few days after the chaos that happened at the high profile dinner, Kirk decided to address it.

“Saturday was yet another traumatic example of the evil in our country and the continued rise in political violence,” Kirk wrote via X on Monday, April 27. “I’m taking time to spend with my family.”

Erika continued, “I will be joining The Charlie Kirk Show Wednesday at 12PM ET to briefly address what took place. Enough is enough.”

The dinner boasted the names of high profile figures, politicians, lawmakers and journalists.

President Donald Trump was also among those in the building at the time of the shooting. Due to the swift response of the security team, nobody was injured. It also meant that King Charles and Queen Camilla’s state visit proceeded as planned.

On Wednesday’s podcast episode, Kirk started by addressing the reason she went to the dinner in the first place, saying, “Many of the journalists in that room have attempted to dehumanize me, and I wanted to meet some of them face to face, quite frankly.

Why have a conversation about me when you can have a conversation with me?”
