General Hospital Officially Responds To John Oliver’s Soap Opera Role Request

General Hospital spoilers suggest that a familiar face could pop up in the land of Port Charles, soon. “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver made headlines recently when he recreated a GH scene that Brick, played by Stephen A. Smith,was in.

Oliver then admitted he would love a daytime drama to cast him in a role, and the ABC soap has responded.

John Oliver’s Daytime Drama Dream

Oliver had made quite the bold statement on a segment recently, saying, “To all the soap operas out there, let me say this: I am officially offering myself to you. Write me a role, and I’ll be on your set so fast, it’ll make your head spin.”

He did have some conditions, though: “First, I don’t want to play myself; I want to be a character. And I want his name to be ridiculous.

Also, I want to do something juicy — like murder or slapping or being slapped or being someone’s long-lost something — and, ideally, I’d like a dramatic closeup of my face.”

Oliver added, “But in return, trust me, I will give my all to this performance.”

Oliver’s soapy request was heard all throughout the industry. In a post on Instagram that featured Stephen A. Smith, “Brick” commented with, “John Oliver, @LastWeekTonight, I have one question. Are you ready to commit!?”

This is when the official GH IG handle hit the comments section with, “We may have just the part for him. Our DMs are open.”

New Love Interest For Alexis Davis?

As for the kind of role Oliver could play in Port Charles, Nancy Lee Grahn had an idea. She responded to the host’s request for a daytime drama role by posting on Threads. She wrote, “I want him. Alexis (Davis) needs a hot love interest, and it will be short termed without a lasting commitment since all her lovers eventually become psychopaths and die.”

Grahn added, “#JohnOliver would make a perfect psychopath. It’ll write itself.”
