Meghan Markle Mocked as ‘Pennywise’ After Bizarre Instagram Post Goes Viral

2025 may have been an experimental year for Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever, but this year, the former actress-turned-business owner is looking forward to stabilizing, and even perhaps, expanding the territories As Ever is available in.

With this drive comes plenty of grinding, and this time it seems the Duchess, 44, is focusing a lot of mental energy on marketing the brand via her blossoming Instagram page. However, it doesn’t feel like fans truly appreciate this.

Meghan Markle Mocked Over New Post Promoting As Ever Jam

These days, the Duchess of Sussex can be mocked for even the simplest of things, and this time around, the bar for the “simplest thing” was dragged down to new lows.

In a bid to promote her brand’s Sweetheart Bundle collaboration with Compartés Chocolates, Meghan unwittingly channelled a horror movie character, and well, fans naturally weren’t going to let her off just like that.

In the picture, Meghan is holding up a bundle of balloons tied around a jar of As Ever jam.

The problem here is that the balloons are red and they’re obscuring her face, in a light nod to one of Pennywise’s most famous poses. You know, the one where the evil clown is leering behind red balloons? Yup, that one.

While there are a lot of obvious differences, fans, nevertheless, decided to latch on to these few similarities.

“She’s the spawn of Pennywise,” one commenter mocked.

“OK. She actually looks like Pennywise without makeup,” another wrote, with yet another funnily declared, “Pennywise looks like a nicer person.”

Meghan has found herself on different occasions blasted for “copying” famous movie stars and even influencers. From her choices for As Ever aesthetics to her fashion, the Duchess often finds herself in the middle of scornful remarks.

According to the Duchess, she’s learned to handle the criticisms better by turning off the noise and concentrating on what matters.

However, with Meghan’s brand reportedly suffering under the weight of thousands of unsold inventory, the mother-of-two is reportedly relying on her social media shout-outs to help spread the word.

“Sweet favorites return, plus something brand new. Set your reminder — it won’t last long. The As Ever x @compartes Valentine’s Day collection, coming Saturday,” she wrote.
