The Young And The Restless Spoilers Wednesday, December 31: Sally and Adam Clash, Cane Targets Lily, Tessa Crosses a Line

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Wednesday, December 31 point to Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) getting naughty while Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) makes a play for his ex, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).

Tessa is married to broken Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). But Mariah left her and their infant daughter to “heal” in a psych ward, which we have to assume is happening since the story has not appeared onscreen in ages.

What is Going on With Messa?

Tessa has depended on Daniel to help her cope with Mariah’s mess, and she’s even introduced him to a new career path: guitarist.

On Wednesday’s episode Tessa puts her resolve away and follows her heart by kissing Daniel. It’s not the first time this has happened and once his mother caught them in the act.

Does this kiss lead to more complicated interactions? For now Tessa is ready to let go, but news from Mariah could change all that.

Messa Are in the Weeds

Meanwhile, Cane expects Lily to celebrate New Year’s with him. This is a tricky expectation since Lily saw Cane and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) kissing in his office not so long ago. We wouldn’t blame Lily if she tosses this in Cane’s face and asks if she is his second option.

Train Master Cane has the audacity to claim that he only wants Lily–and tries to prove it. Will it work? He has a limited window of opportunity before the clock strikes midnight!

Adam and Sally Reconnoiter

Elsewhere, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) tries to squash beef with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Over the holidays they had a nasty spat and today Sally and Adam hash out their complicated past.

Sensitive Adam wants Sally to like him, and of course it’s his guilty conscience that is spurring his remorse. Adam used Newman Media to go after Jabot and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Sally read him the riot act for this.

Sally was also sore that the news infringed on her huge Abbott Communications launch, the first one being ruined by Cane.

Look for Sadam to review their past, including the not so good times. Will they be able to meet in the middle and end the animosity?
