Princess Beatrice Snubs Father Former Prince Andrew For His “Last Christmas” At Royal Lodge

Since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor lost the last of his royal titles, his days at the Royal Lodge has become numbered.

Though some reports say he doesn’t actually plan on moving, it’s easy to see that he has since lost the last of his bargaining chips, so this is most likely to be his last Christmas at the impressive royal estate.

Next year will reportedly see him moving to a much more modest residence, and to celebrate his last hurrah at the 50-room spread, he’s reportedly called his family together for one last good Royal Lodge party. Sadly, Princess Beatrice will have to be excused.

Princess Beatrice Turns Down Her Father’s Party For A Skiing Trip

This year has been a whirlwind one for former Prince Andrew, who made headlines for much of it, with 99% of these headlines casting him in a negative light. But I bet you his daughters likely had an even more grueling time keeping a straight face when something particularly nasty from his past makes the papers.

So it’s perfectly understandable that Beatrice, 37, has opted to spend her holidays dealing with as little drama as possible by traveling out of the UK.

According to sources, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will be joining a number of friends on a skiing holiday trip.

This means that she has chosen to forego one last Christmas at the Windsor property where she and her sister, Princess Eugenie, 35, were raised. In the same way, she also politely pulled out of spending the holidays with the rest of the Royal Family at Sandringham Castle.

It is said that Eugenie faces a similar predicament, though it’s expected that she may opt for a quiet Christmas with her husband Jack Brooksbank and young children.

A friend explained: “Beatrice doesn’t want to cause any embarrassment and was torn between loyalty to the King and her parents.”

The source added: “She appreciates the way that the King and William have looked after her during everything that has been happening with Andrew and Sarah.”

Instead of picking any side, Beatrice very obviously decided it would be better to skip either and travel abroad instead.
