During the most recent episode of B&B, Ridge Forrester told Eric that it would be best if he stayed retired.

For a lot of viewers, John McCook’s performance, especially when he was alone in the office after Ridge’s rejection, had everyone very emotional. This happens more often than a lot of people like to admit, especially when someone reaches their retirement age. But is it really fair?

Of course, many The Bold and the Beautiful fans had a lot to say about the matter.

Some even commented with, “Never forget that Ridge tried to steal Eric’s power of attorney when he was bedridden from a stroke (that his family boycotting his wedding caused) and married to Quinn when he had no legal claim over it (which is a crime btw). Ridge is no stranger to betraying Eric.”

What’s Next For Eric Forrester?

Another critic of the show wrote, “I think that he and Ridge’s actor did a great job these last two episodes. If this is going to be another repeat of last year where he worked until his dying breath, they need to commit to it this time and put their best effort into writing his send-off.”

“After all the time that he’s devoted to this soap from the pilot to now, he deserves a well written and directed story.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Just like his character Eric, John McCook wants to work! I’ve read interviews with his daughters, John loves to be included. The show minimizes him just as Ridge does. Maybe he will mentor Deacon.”
