General Hospital Spoilers: Nathan & Lulu’s Romance Brewing – Maxie Wakes Up to Shocking New Couple?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) could have a romance brewing. Will Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) wake up to a shocking new couple down the road?

Maxie is currently in a coma, so she won’t be around for Nathan’s initial return to the show on September 19. Lulu, on the other hand, will be front and center as she comes to injured Nathan’s aid after an accident.

Of course, we have to consider why Lulu will be the one stepping up for Nathan in his time of need. Lulu will get a heroic moment and a chance to connect with Nathan as he makes his comeback, so GH writers may have a romance in mind.

Nathan will face a lot of changes in Port Charles – much like the ones Maxie faced when she woke up after the years she spent comatose. Lulu may relate to Nathan in some ways and feel the need to be there for him when Maxie can’t.

That could lead to Lulu and Nathan developing some unexpected feelings for each other. It might add to the conflict between Lulu and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) since Britt would presumably disapprove of Lulu being with her brother.

Lulu might fall hard for Nathan anyway, so that could set them up as a solid couple before Kirsten Storms returns as Maxie. Maxie’s going to deal with plenty of shockers when she finally awakens.

Nathan’s survival news will be overwhelming enough, but Maxie may face some Nathan and Lulu romantic updates that throw her for a loop, too. Can you imagine Maxie’s reaction to her “dead” husband being back and dating her BFF?!

This could deliver some incredibly soapy material, so it’ll be interesting to see if Lulu and Nathan are indeed headed for couple status.

Naturally, there’s going to be a lot more to the story when it comes to Nathan’s character transformation and everything that’s happened during his time away. Nathan may be keeping some major secrets – perhaps even some sinister ones!
