Did King Charles just embarrass the monarchy during Donald Trump’s visit to Windsor Castle this week? That’s what a lot of royal fans can’t help but wonder. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Apparently, there were some royalists that pointed out how unnecessary it was for Trump to have a carriage ride around the grounds of Windsor Castle. Some critics even thought that it was rather comical.
Royalist Richard Eden wrote on X, “The private carriage procession round the grounds of Windsor Castle is embarrassing, like a fairground ride to entertain the US President. The whole point of a royal carriage procession is so the public can see you.”
Point well taken, right? However, it has been pointed out that Trump can’t go around and see the public because of security reasons.
After all, he is the president of the United States. Of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter.
Some even commented with, “Having an unelected monarch as Head of State and Princes and Princesses, castles, gold carriages and a press that gushes about grown women wearing tiaras is exactly like a theme park. Charles and Camilla are Minnie and Mickey.”
Another critic wrote, “Why on earth would the UK invite them a second time, when all this stuff about Epstein is coming out and the obvious connection with Andrew and Trump? It baffles me.”
And then there was this comment as well: “I’m convinced that Charles is being blackmailed by trump. Trump has something on Andrew and has threatened to leak it unless the British royals hosted him and gave him a carriage pony ride around the castle. I bet he leaves with some jewels.”
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space for more.
