Rafe Hernandez’s Longtime Wish

Let’s start off with Rafe’s longtime desire. For years, the man has wished for a family of his own. The character knows he is lucky as he has a big, extended family. However, Rafe has always wanted a child of his own.

While it seems he came close a few times, it never worked out for him. Now that Rafe is getting older, he’s accepted that he’s likely never going to have what he’s always craved.

Losing David Ridgeway

Rafe got close to being a parent once when he took care of David. Fans recall that Jordan Ridgeway (Chrishell Hartley) showed up with a child. However, she became obsessed with Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) doing something terrible, which turned out to be psychosis.

While Rafe was taking care of David for a while, he had to turn him over after a court ruling.

Missing a Piece

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that a child can change people in ways they never expected. It’s hard to say if Rafe would have been better off not bonding with David. One thing is for sure, though, losing the little boy created a huge hole in his heart.
