The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) could face not only being exposed as Artistole Dumas but get arrested for the crimes in France. This would definitely be a total shock to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). She won’t believe that Cane is capable of murder.
Lily doesn’t trust Cane. Over the years, Cane has broken her heart multiple times. She cannot allow herself to trust him. Every time she has, he betrays her.
The cards are stacked against Cane. He might have lied about Colin Atkinson’s death. The Young and the Restless spoilers state that Cane put the wheels in motion and poisoned Damian Kane (Jeremaine Rivers) and stabbed another person.
It’s possible that he didn’t do any of the killings, but he is responsible. He is the one with the master plan. After the deed is done, someone will need to pay.
Genoa City elite will be completely stunned to learn that Dumas is Cane. They won’t understand why he needed to use an alias. He bought up the real estate around the city, all around Newman Enterprises, Jabot, and Chancellor Industries.
When he is arrested for likely murder, it will stun the city. The part they will struggle with is the depravity of his crimes. He uses an alias and lured the GC elite to France to trap then and murder possibly two of their own.
It will be too much for any of them to process. They may wonder how they missed the signs. It was clear from the beginning that Dumas had to be someone from Genoa City.
At first, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) assumed Dumas was Tucker McCall (Trevor St John). But that was quickly proven false.
Victor never considered that Dumas could be Cane Ashby.
Lily has known Cane for decades. Their children graduated from college. They were married twice, and tried to reunite multiple times. It never worked out, as Cane has a tendency to resort to conning people for a living.
The Young and the Restless spoilers state that Cane’s arrest would devastate Lily. She would have to inform her children of their dad’s twisted plan in France. It’s definitely a conversation that Lily doesn’t want to have with her children.
If Lily is honest with herself, she’ll have to admit that Cane’s action hurt her yet again. She might even still have feelings for the obvious con man.
