Who knew these two were dealing with so much conflicting behind the scenes? Of course, we are talking about King Charles and Kate Middleton as there’s a new report suggesting they haven’t been on the same page for quite some time now.
In fact, per the Daily Beast, it seems like the King of England’s tensions with his daughter-in-law have just “exploded in public.”
That’s because Kate Middleton refused to attend Ascot this year, for reasons that are still unknown to the public.
However, one source close to the situation recently put it this way, ““There is a perception in some quarters that Kate just doesn’t like racing and so didn’t make the effort. That is probably not fair, but you have to wonder if she would have missed Wimbledon, which she adores.”
“I am sure she was genuinely unable to come, yet the last-minute nature of the way it was announced makes the king look disrespected.”
The insider also added, “Would she have dared miss Ascot at a moment’s notice when the queen was alive? Her late Majesty would have been not best pleased to have the great honor of a coveted place in the carriage procession rejected an hour before kickoff on slightly vague grounds.”
Of course, royal fans on the internet had a lot to say about it. Some have even commented with, “Charles went to all five days of Ascot in the heat. Kate couldn’t even go to one.”
“She’s setting herself up for getting roasted if she goes to Wimbledon, but if she doesn’t then more people will start talking.”
Another royal critic wrote, “I think the fluff coverage Kate’s gotten for a few years now (first as the perfect foil to Meghan, peacekeeper nonsense, and then for cancer which is much more understandable) is over.”
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space for more.

I think King Charles is jealous of Catherine. The Queen never wanted Charles as King. He was not popular with his people because of how terrible he was to Diana. The Queen could see how popular Catherine was with the public, that's why she made Catherine Queen. She doesn't get upset easy and the UK people love her. King Charles needs to bow out and let the popular William & Catherine run things. King Charles is to old and fuddy duddy to be King.
Personally, I think that this article is a bunch of hullabaloo. The Ascot is not a requirement to attend. Princess Catherine is allergic to horses. Yes, there is medication to help deal with those allergy symptoms, As far as we know, perhaps her oncologist advised her of taking any OTC medications.
It's also a possibility that she had already notified the King that she wasn't going to attend and whoever does the lineup, so to speak, assumed that she wasn't going to be there and mistakenly had her name in a specific carriage.
The people that write these articles are wanting to get as many clicks as possible and make these bold statements to help that happen. Besides, I have more important things to worry about than speculating if Princess Catherine went to Ascot or not.
