Why Blake Shelton Compared Gwen Stefani to Dolly Parton

If you wanted to compare ‘No Doubt’ singer Gwen Stefani to any musician, I’m guessing Dolly Parton would be among the last artists that’ll come to your mind as a worthy fit. And yet for Blake Shelton, the resemblance in certain aspects is uncanny.

Perhaps he’s seeing her in a different lens than we are, and why not? We’re not the ones married to her, after all.

Blake Shelton is learning a lot from Gwen Stefani, 53, and not just on the musical front – their collabs are fire though – but on other things like faith and how it can transform one’s life for the better, and even add that special sauce to it.

The 48-year-old country star recently talked to Kelleigh Bannen on the Apple Music Country show Today’s Country Radio, revealing how Stefani’s deep relationship to her faith served to strengthen his.

He said: “I’ve learned so much from her, and she’s really the person that’s helped me get in touch with my faith and get serious about it and not just something that you say at an awards show, you know?”

“She reminds me to think about it all day long,” the “Austin” hitmaker added. “When you’re around her, everything she sees, she sees God in it.”

To the “Happy Anywhere” singer, Stefani’s faith makes her even more special to him. “Her faith is alive, and it’s incredible to be around her,” said Shelton. “She’s so happy about it, and she loves to share it to anybody that’s listening.”

For Bannen, Stefani approaches religion the way she approaches her admiration for Parton, 79, and Schlapman, 55.

“That’s funny you say that about Kimberly. I’ve always thought about that with her, too,” he said of the Little Big Town member. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen her without a smile from ear to ear, you know?”

“[Schlapman is] just an incredible person, and Dolly obviously, but Gwen has that, too. She just has that,” he said, obviously pointing to how Stefani matches Schlapman and Parton’s incredible radiance.
