General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Chad Duell exited the role of Michael Corinthos earlier this year and ever since then fans have speculated about the actor, and the character’s return.
We think we have an answer—maybe! Keep reading to discover what we know so far about this GH legacy mystery!
We now know that Michael is indeed coming home to his loved ones in Port Charles. During the Tuesday, May 20 episode we saw an unidentified man on a private plane, watching the Nurses Ball red carpet.
On the screen were Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Willow Tait-Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen). Michael’s wife trilled about her perfect life and this got tongues wagging and social media lit up with conjecture that the mystery man is Michael.
But who is playing the character?!
Neither the show nor Duell have spoken about a possible return. In April the rumor mill was on fire with dish that Robert Adamson (ex-Noah Newman, The Young and the Restless) would be the Michael recast.
Adamson has filled in as Michael but the fire was extinguished when the actor said on X that he wasn’t allowed to read for the role of Michael. So much for that.
There was also buzz that Drew Garrett, who played Michael from 2009 to 2010, would return to the role.
Next up came spec that Rory Gibson (also ex-Noah Newman, The Young and the Restless) was cast as Michael, after he and Katelyn MacMullen followed each other on social media.
What we now know for sure is that Gibson has been cast in the role, and GH fans are uber excited following the airplane scene.
Chad said on social media that he was taking a break and left any return comeback vague, in typical soap fashion. It looks like he has moved on, and we wish him well.
