King Charles Made This Important Plea To Prince William About Family Life

King Charles reportedly regrets prioritizing his royal duties over his family during his younger years, and would love his son and heir Prince William to carve a different path for himself.

Even now at age 76 and battling cancer, the monarch refuses to pace himself, though his medical team has been known to step in from time to time.

King Charles Reportedly Admitted That He Had Failings In the Way He Approached Family Life

Prince Harry called it “generational pain” and said that breaking it meant leaving the Royal life behind. But perhaps there’s a better way he could have used to find a balance and William’s found it?

“I don’t think we should be pointing the finger or blaming anybody, but certainly when it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I’m going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on,” Harry claimed in a 2021 episode of the Armchair Expert.

Breaking this so-called cycle of suffering was Harry’s dearest wish, but perhaps even more so for his father, who advised William to refrain from treading in the same places he’s been to. According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, the monarch wanted his son to find a healthy work-life balance that’ll mean more time spent with his family.

“Charles said to William, ‘Please don’t make the mistake that I made’ and ‘I want you to enjoy your family life,’” Seward claimed. She added that “Charles was very insistent about this because he said: ‘I was so dedicated to duty, I couldn’t make way for family life in the way that I should’ve done’ and that’s what William did.”

Seward further added that perhaps Charles now regrets his parenting approach, saying, “Had Charles been firmer with Harry – and, to some extent, William – in their formative years, they might not have caused him so much worry.”
