Meghan Markle’s Netflix Show Getting A Second Season Because It Was Filmed Back To Back

“Lettuce romaine calm”
was the exact words Meghan Markle used to announce the second season of her Netflix show, shortly after the first one launched on the global streaming platform.

It was a huge win for fans, but not so much for the naysayers who were convinced it simply didn’t perform well enough to be granted the honor of coming back a second time.

Sure, it was not up there with the most critically acclaimed cooking and lifestyle shows by celebrities, and it just managed to crack the top 10 for a week, but it still generated enough buzz.

However, word on the street is that the show’s renewal had nothing to do with the buzz.

Even if the first season had been a failure in historic standards, it still would have gotten a second season. Or so the reports say.

Netflix Will Only Broadcast Meghan Markle’s ‘With Love, Meghan’ Only Because They’ve Spent Money On It

Getting a second season in this weather is not easy and undoubtedly shows the significance of a show’s deep connection with its target audience. But in Meghan Markle’s case, reports say it’s more of a fluke than really connecting with people and making an impact.

A well-placed Netflix insider revealed, “The reviews worried the bosses and a new season does not mean her Netflix contract has been renewed.”

“I know they filmed the shows back-to-back so in theory there is no second season it’s like with lots of Netflix shows it is already in the bag at the same time as the first one.”

“What this does is allow edits to be made to the show from feedback from press and Netflix viewers. So no, the overall contract hasn’t been renewed yet.”

Weighing in on this on a recent episode of Palace Confidential, royal expert Richard Eden said, “Let’s be clear what happened here. They hired a location. They spent money on a mansion where this was filmed and they filmed enough material for two series at the same time so it was done and dusted so Netflix will release the second series in the autumn.”

“I think they were always going to do that,” Richard added. “It did make me wonder how bad reception would have had to be for Netflix not to broadcast a second.”

In essence, ‘With Love, Meghan’ is only returning because Netflix execs want their money back. Sounds fair.
