The Bold and The Beautiful Spoilers: Let’s Celebrate 38 Years of Mayhem, Drama, and Love in the Afternoon!

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that the CBS show debuted on March 23, 1987 making this year its 38th anniversary on the airwaves—do you remember the first episode?

In a severely shrunken daytime market, pushing 40 is cause for celebration for B&B and its fans.

The fashion-based drama revolves around the gorgeous and talented Forrester Family with plenty of irreverent and rogue second bananas plus tons of soapilicious storylines. Let’s take a look back at B&B’s origins and speculate about its future!

The Forrester Family Reigns Supreme

The show was developed by William J. Bell and his wife Lee Phillip Bell, with their son Bradley Bell now executive producer and head writer. The show is a sister soap to The Young and the Restless and over the decades there have been several crossover plots and visits.

Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) launched Forrester Creations and today the action centers on the goings-on there.

FC is among the top fashion houses in the world and these days Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) run it with help from Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), Zende Forrester (Delon de Metz), and RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman).

Ridge’s love life centers on Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang).

Redemption is Part of the Plan

The Logan family includes temptresses and FC employees Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis). Brooke’s daughter Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) recently participated in a hostile takeover of FC with Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and as such the Logans are personas non grata.

Billionaire patriarch Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) is Ridge’s arch enemy and his sons Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks), and Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) have had their share of FC entanglements over the years.

Villains and Heroes

Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) runs the popular hangout Il Giardino with his wife Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) both of whom have been outsiders, sometimes villainous ones.

Right now Sheila is part of a sizzling front burner plot, the revelation that her son John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) is the father of pardoned murderer Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada). This storyline will drive the action in the coming days and weeks and it has been a controversial one.
