Many longtime General Hospital fans have pointed out that Kelly Monaco was always an essential part of the history of Port Charles. But for some reason or another, they decided to cut her out and give the spotlight to characters like Portia instead.

As many of our readers can imagine, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter.

Some even commented with, “The actors are being made to play against everything their characters established through decades of work. Their actions are foreign to the true established nature of their character.”

“GH needs to get it together or they will be next on the chopping block! I’m just about ready to move on myself, something I never thought I would do.”

Another fan wrote, “Watching GH now is like experiencing an alternate reality, no one’s character is behaving as they have already well established the characters to be. IE: Jason, Drew, Willow, Chase, Carly, Sonny, Alexis, Molly, TJ, Christina…etc….none of these characters are in line with the established character.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Based on some comments I’ve seen about another soap, it makes me wonder if some actors have greater longevity based on their ability to handle the demands and focus solely on being part of daytime drama.”

“It’s very possible that behind the scenes the actress is extremely dependable, consistent and committed to her career in daytime.”
