General Hospital news says that this is a detail that some fans just can’t get passed. That’s because they feel as though Taggert has basically gotten screwed by the writers of the show.

As many General Hospital fans already know, Taggert was Trina’s father figure and legal father for the first 20 years of her life. But it seems like that detail has been completely ignored and erased.

Instead, Trina is calling Curtis his father and he is acting like he raised her this entire time. If that weren’t enough, they are all getting along with Portia, which many people are pointing out to be a huge hypocrite. We couldn’t make this up even if we tried.

Of course, the internet had a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “Trina will always be Taggert’s daughter. It was so weird/sad…her Dad, her bestie, and the love of her life were all missing.”

Another General Hospital fan wrote, “For all intents and purposes, Taggert IS Trina’s father. He always will be, no matter how much the writers want us to forget his existence.”

“You can’t trust DNA tests in PC. Hopefully Trina gets some weird genetic disease that can only be treated with Taggart’s blood.”

And then there was this comment as well: “I noticed they basically retconned who Trina’s dad is. She used to call Curtis ‘Curtis’ or refer to him as her step-dad but now calls him ‘dad’, which would totally break Taggert’s heart.”

“It’s like the writers forgot the arc where Trina and Curtis had tension because she said he wasn’t her actual father and was overstepping on boundaries and he agreed to leave the fatherly duties to Taggert.”

Now, whether or not Taggart ever comes back or the character gets recast remains to be seen. Of course, GH fans will have to tune in to find out what will happen next.
