Well, color us surprised with this one. Days of Our Lives comings and goings strongly suggest that Camila Banus might be coming back to play Gabi DiMera.
Well, the character’s current portrayer, Cherie Jimenez certainly does have something to say about it. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Earlier in the week, there was some speculation suggesting that Cherie had one foot out the door in this fictional town of Salem. Thankfully, she set the record straight.
The actress took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to write, “I guess there’s a rumor going around that I’m leaving Dool & so I just wanted to squash that right now by letting y’all know I’m not going anywhere. I love playing Gabi & everyone at #Days.”
So, there you have it, folks. Of course, the internet had a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “We love you on Dool! You’re an incredible actress and I’m very glad to hear you’re staying.”
Another fan wrote, “Good to hear!! I need more Gabi and JJ back in my life and eventually Brandon Barash as Stefan back to interrupt their wedding!”
“Didn’t hear the rumor, but nevertheless happy to hear you’re sticking around! You’ve been doing an incredible job as Gabi; love your work!!”
And then there was this comment as well: “So relieved to hear this even though I didn’t hear the rumor. You have given the character of Gabi new life, and I truly enjoy watching you in the role!”
Now, as far as whether or not Camila will ever return to the canvas, and perhaps even in a new role, remains to be seen. So far the DOOL alum has not made any comments about the matter just yet. Watch this space.
