The moment happened during a garden party that the Duchess of Sussex threw on her new lifestyle show, ‘With Love, Meghan.’ There was one particular moment in the scene in which Doria got maybe a little close to her famous daughter and Meghan made it known that she didn’t want to be touched at that time.
For a lot of Meghan Markle’s critics, they are not surprised by this behavior at all. They figure that this is just ‘par for the course’ when it comes to the Duchess of Sussex and her behavior.
Others think that it might have been an unscripted moment that Meghan didn’t expect and that she simply wanted to stay on script for the sake of the show.
Either way, a lot of people think that this is simply not a good look for Meghan Markle.
After all, she was also caught off guard when her friend Mindy Kaling referred to her as her maiden name. Meghan quickly snapped back and said that she wanted to be referred to as a Sussex now. That moment quickly became viral for Meghan, suggesting that she desperately does want to hang on to her royal roots even though she wants nothing to do with the royal family.
That said, a lot of people are even surprised that Doria took part in Meghan’s Netflix program, seeing how she’s been doing everything she can to stay out of the spotlight. Maybe after what happened she won’t be convinced to appear on the second season of the show.
So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about the controversy.
