So, is this t he way it’s going to be from now on? That’s what a lot of soap fans can’t help but wonder as there’s a new report that says Beyond The Gates has managed to shock durig their first week on the air.
That’s because they managed to crush their competition, General Hosptial, in the ratings. According to Soap Opera Network, Beyond The Gates outperformed General Hospital in key demos.
If that weren’t enough, Beyond The Gates has also managed to give The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless the much-needed ratings boost they needed on their end, too.
It’s safe to say that these days everyone at CBS is a winner. Some soap opera fans have even commented on the matter with, “A well-deserved success. BTG is very well put together and much more representative of today’s American society with a gay couple with children… Episode 7 refers to Facebook and Instagram, etc.”
Another fan wrote, “I liked what I saw of it last week, not surprised it beat GH. BTG has a good cast, just as long as they properly use most of them, Mike Manning especially, who is a talented guy in his own right of course.”
And then there was this comment as well: “I’m not surprised!! There’s so much happening on #BeyondtheGates and it’s exciting and soapy!! #GH is a bland, dull mess, with zero signs of improving.”
“Did you think it wouldn’t? It’s a new show. Fresh characters with fresh writing. GH is full on plot writing with what Frank wants. There’s no comparison at this points.”
Now, whether or not Beyond The Gates is going to continue to remain on top remains to be seen. But if there’s one thing we know, it’s that General Hospital has got some real competition right now. We will update you with all of the latest details the moment they come in.

Absolutely nonsensical garbage! General Hospital has been and ALWAYS will be the best soap opera. I have not and will not ever watch BTG. No interest whatsoever! Period. I've been a GH fan for 45 years and unless it leaves the airwaves, which it won't, I'll always be a dedicated fan. PERIOD
