Apparently, Oprah Winfrey is under backlash after being accused of ‘stealing Whoopi Goldberg’s moment at the Oscars.’ 

Per the latest reports, Oscar viewers spotted a tense on-stage moment between former costars Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg on Sunday as they paid tribute to the legendary Quincy Jones.

As Goldberg was presenting the tribute Oprah jumped in and said ‘He actually discovered me for the Color Purple, which was my first film,’ Oprah said of the film’s executive producer and composer.

A TikTok user shared the exchange on the platform, saying the moment between the two screen legends was ‘lowkey shady.’ One commenter said: “Oprah it’s not about you tonight… thank you Whoopi.”

Yikes! As you can imagine, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “I used to be a big fan of these ladies. Oprah is more of a talk show host, while Whoopi is actually a very talented comic actor.”

“I hate that their radical, leftist extremism has turned them into two people I now dislike quite vehemently. I miss the people I thought they were.”

Another critic wrote, “I don’t think this is new beef. Whoopi hasn’t been happy about Oprah (for years) for profiting so much from The Color Purple when Sophia wasn’t even the star. That came out when Taraji exposed Oprah for underpaying her.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Whoopi had her moment in the movie Ghost. Its been all downhill from there. A piece of bread could be thrown off a bridge and that would be more interesting than those two.”

So far neither Oprah nor Whoopi have made any comments about their alleged feud.
