General Hospital Spoilers: Did Cyrus Deserve Better?

And by that we mean, did he deserve a better ending compared to the one that he got in Port Charles?

As many of our readers know already, Cyrus took his last breath after Josslyn did the unexpected and killed him once and for all. But some people think that his death might have been too anti-climatic.

It goes without saying that many General Hospital fans certainly have had a lot to say about the matter.

Some even commented with, “Credit to Jeff Kober, he took a role that was supposed to last 6 months and turned it into 5 years. Sorry to see him go. Thanks Jeff, it was a pleasure to watch you work!”

“The story went off the rails when they started having Cyrus kill random people, and it never recovered. Even though he was great in the scenes with Becky Herbst trying to make sense of Cyrus’s actions, the explanation was weak, which is what you get from a weak story that never made sense.” 

Another critic wrote, “Josslyn shooting him was very blah and anti-climatic after they had seemingly set up a ‘Whodunit” on a silver platter with half the town wanting to see Cyrus dead. That would have been interesting, this wasn’t.”

“Cyrus deserved a better ending story. He was a good villain at the beginning, but in the end, he went out with a whimper, like many GH villains over the years.”

And then there was this comment as well: “As soon as Josslyn found Poindexter’s gun, I think many of us knew she’d probably be the one who would put an end to Smiley Cyrus’ reign of terror. It was just a question of whether or not she’d deliberately murder him, or if she’d kill him in self-defense.”

What’s Next On General Hospital?

“Now we know. We’ll see if NuJack muddies the waters in a misguided attempt to hide Joss’ involvement in Cyrus’ death, but any cover-up is only going to make it look like a premeditated murder.”

It goes without saying that General Hospital fans will simply have to tune in to find out what will happen next.
