Is there something going on that we don’t know about? That’s what a lot of General Hospital fans are asking as many seem to be concerned about one of their favorite actors on the small screen, Maurice Benard. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
A lot of viewers couldn’t help but notice that something seemed to be off with Maurice, who plays Sonny Corinthos on the hit ABC soap.
That’s because he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but in a scene that he played with his co-star Maura West, who plays Ava. Some fans were even concerned that Maurice looked and played like he was very lethargic so much so that some people think he wasn’t acting at all. That, or he jsut needed a good night of rest.
Many General Hospital fans even took to social media to comment on the matter with, “I really did think he was attempting to act like someone trying to avoid stress. Not only that, but Benard seemed particularly lethargic in those scenes (more than usual).”
Another critic wrote, “Yes. But I couldn’t tell if it was MB just not bringing it or if he was playing it that Sonny is not well and he’s just too tired for the nonsense.”
And then there was this comment as well: “I really did think he was attempting to act like someone trying to avoid stress.”

Seriously? It's called ACTING! The character has a heart condition. He should be avoiding stress, but has to deal with Ava and Ric over Avery, Cyrus killing people, Sidwell in town up to who knows what, his son nearly burned alive right in front of him, with a bomb meant for him. And there's still the custody issue with Michael and Willow, and his daughter, Kristina isn't the most stable person, and has a passionate, obsessive hatred for Ava. Am I missing anything? Why WOULDN'T the character seem tired and "over it"? 🙄
