General Hospital’s Steve Burton Makes Odd Statement About Maurice Benard

During the most recent episode of his Daily Drama podcast, Steve opened up about some of his scenes and how he does his best to stay in character even when the cameras aren’t rolling. But then again, that’s what a lot of soap opera actors often do, right?

But the odd moment came when Steve hinted that he and Maurice used to do things quite differently behind the scenes back in the day. In other words, he made it sound like they used to take their jobs at General Hospital much more seriously than they do now.

The actor put it this way, “I remember back when Maurice [Benard] and I took our jobs very seriously. If there was anything that wasn’t real, we weren’t doing it.”

“We probably would’ve fought that. Seeing someone in our peripheral vision that’s supposed to be overhearing.”

That’s certainly a very bizarre statement to make, right? A lot of people can’t help but raise their eyebrows over what Steve said, seeing how he and Maurice are still in General Hospital to this very day.

Could it be that they don’t take their roles as seriously as they used to? That’s what a lot of fans want to know.

Steve Burton hasn’t made any additional comments about the confusion, but seeing how the action in Port Charles has been on fire lately, we have a feeling that they are taking their acting as seriously as they should be. Or at least, that’s what their fans are hoping for.
