Believe it or not, they could have been a couple. Of course, we are talking about Prince William and Meghan Markle as there’s a new report that hints the future king of England really did like the former actress when he first met her. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

But of course, Meghan fell in love with Prince Harry. However, there’s one source close to the situation that says if Prince William wanted to pursue the Duchess of Sussex, he easily could have, despite the fact that he was already married to his own wife, Kate Middleton.

Per The Times, the source said, “I can tell you that if William had wanted to marry Meghan Markle, it would’ve been a step too far… [But] Harry was never going to be king. The courtiers and ladies-in-waiting and communications teams thought Meghan would keep Harry out of trouble; give him something to focus on.”

And while no one knows if that is true or not, the insider also went on to say that both Prince William and Kate Middleton did like Meghan Markle when they first met her back in 2016 because they thought she was a breath of fresh air.

The tipster said, “A junior member of staff explained that in the early days when the Fab Four were still getting along, she once came across Meghan and William doing a jokey parody of Fifties jiving together. William was apparently very good at it.”

Of course, that all changed the moment the you-know-what hit the fan. Right now, the Prince of Wales wants absolutely nothing to do with Prince Harry’s wife, nor does he ever want to look at her in the face again. That’s how bad things have gotten.
