There are reports suggesting that former first daughters Malia and Sasha Obama are refusing to listen to their mother Michelle Obama’s advice when it comes to their health. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

On several different occasions now, both Malia Obama and Sasha Obama have been spotted puffing cigarettes while they were out and about. 

This comes as a surprise to both fans and critics, seeing how the former First Lady Michelle Obama was a huge advocate of making sure that children maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. She even tried to revolutionize school lunches by giving kids healthier choices. 

So, seeing her two adult children smoking cigarettes in public does come as a surprise.

But then again, Sasha and Malia aren’t the only two in the Obama family that smoke. Former President Barack Obama himself has said that he just recently quit smoking and that’s only because “scared” of his wife. The president also said that he hasn’t had a cigarette in six years. 

Celeb News: What’s Next For The Obama Sisters?

In an interview with People (via Essence), Obama said, I haven’t had a cigarette in probably six years… that’s because I’m scared of my wife. I’ve said before that as a former smoker I constantly struggle with it. Have I fallen off the wagon sometimes? Yes. Am I a daily smoker, a constant smoker? No.”

Yet, Michelle Obama said that Barack mostly quit because he wanted to be a good role model for their daughters. She said, “You know, I’d sneak maybe three, four cigarettes a day, then I could go three or four days without one.”

“I know that his ability to ultimately kick the habit was because of the girls, because they’re at the age now where you can’t hide. I think that he didn’t want to look his girls in the eye and tell them that they shouldn’t be doing something that he was still doing.”
