General Hospital fans have noticed that there’s been a bit of change in Laura Wright’s (Carly Corinthos) appearance lately, but there’s a good reason behind it.

Not only that, but it seems like she just hasn’t been the same, either. But it all has to do with some of the changes that her body has been dealing with and it’s also something that many viewers of her same age can relate to as well. 

In a new interview with Woman’s World, Laura said, “I remember doing a scene with Maura West (Ava), and I kept going up — and I don’t go up. I’ve been doing this for a long time, so it takes a lot for me to mess up and not remember a line 10 times in a row!”

Along with the brain fog, Laura also says that she’s been dealing with hot flashes, panic attacks and weight gain. It turns out that she had been dealing with perimenopause and thankfully, sought the care she needed in order to deal with it.

The actress continued, “We need way more testing, schooling and education around this. With the studies coming out now, doctors and scientists should be ashamed, quite frankly, that they never took this seriously.”

General Hospital News: What’s Next For Laura Wright?

It goes without saying that a lot of General Hospital fans certainly did have a lot to say about the matter.

Some even commented with, “Laura Wright did an interview talking about early menopause and how much trouble she had with weight gain, sleep problems, memory loss, including forgetting her lines, surgeries that ended up being unnecessary…she was very brave to share the plight of aging so publicly.”
