We have terrible news to share with the daytime television community. That’s because there are new reports that say a Days of Our Lives actor has been found dead at the age of 39. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Per the latest reports, Days of Our Lives and Jane the Virgin actor Francisco San Martin has been found dead. According to deadline, the cause of death is suicide by hanging.
Born in Spain on the island of Mallorca and raised in Montana, San Martin began acting in children’s theatre productions.
The actor, who was best known for his role as Dario Hernandez on the long-running soap, was discovered by police at his Los Angeles home on Jan. 16. The role as also played by The Young and the Restless alum Jordi Vilasuso.
In addition to his work on Days of Our Lives, Martin also appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful as a groundskeeper back in 2017. His character became embroiled in one of Sheila’s schemes.
On Jane the Virgin, San Martin acted opposite star Gina Rodriguez as actor Fabian Regalo del Cielo who appeared on the same telenovela as Jane’s father Rogelio. It doesn’t appear as though the actor had any work since then.
Days of Our Lives alum Camila Banus wrote on her Instagram page, “Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend. My only witness that pau sang happy birthday to me in the middle of a concert in Hollywood, you couldn’t believe it.”
“Love you mucho mucho mucho; I wish I had told you more.”
