One reporter asked Karen Bass, “”Do you owe citizens an apology for being absent while their homes were burning?” 

“Do you regret cutting the fire department budget by millions of dollars, madam mayor?”

He then continued, “Elon Musk says that you’re utterly incompetent. Are you considering your position?” 

“Madam mayor, have you absolutely nothing to say to the citizens today who are dealing with this disaster? No apology for them?” 

“Do you think you should have been visiting Ghana while this was unfolding back home?”

Many critics have commented on the matter with, “This lady needs to resign. There are people who have been waiting to hear from leadership and she’s obviously not capable of providing the bare minimum.”

“It’s all fun and games for them because they are never met with consequences for their actions.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Time to start locking people up for incompetence when it causes people their lives and home.”

It’s also been noted that Karen Bass’ decision to cut millions from the fire fighters budget could mean that more FEMA money will need to be used up on homes that could have been saved.
