For the last several years now, General Hospital star Maurice Benard has been promoting his YouTube series State of Mind on almost a daily basis.

In fact, a lot of daytime television fans have even noticed that Maurice, who is best known for his role as Sonny Corinthos on the hit ABC soap, seems to enjoy making his State of Mind videos more than he does filming new scenes for General Hospital because that’s all he seems to talk about.

However, it’s safe to say that Maurice has also failed miserably with his show. Because it’s been about four years since State of Mind made its debut yet Maurice hasn’t managed to get the show syndicated yet.

Plus, he also has a lot of pride for his YouTube series as well. He told Soap Opera Digest that when he began State of Mind, all he wanted to do was have a place for his friends, family and co-stars to talk about some mental health issues that otherwise aren’t talked about unless it’s behind closed doors. 

He put it this way, “All I want is for this to be two people in a room having a conversation with each other and somebody’s looking through a peephole going, ‘Wow. No interview.’”

General Hospital News: What’s Next For Maurice Benard?

“I tell everybody the same thing — the way I free people’s minds is I say, ‘Look, whatever you say you don’t want [in the finished product], I’ll cut, so you don’t have to worry about, ‘Oh, should I say this?’”

“And out of 90 interviews, only one person has had me cut something.”

Now, whether or not Maurice’s dream of being a talk show host comes true remains to be seen.

So far Maurice Benard himself has not made any comments about the matter although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said.
