Y&R Spoilers Update Tuesday, December 24: Jack’s Sweet Gesture, Nick Tells Phyllis Off, Diane’s Apology Toast

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) surprises her sisters-in-law Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) with a sincere mea culpa.

Diane and her husband Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) pretended to be on the outs in order to save their son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and the whole family was sent into chaos.

Diane’s Ruse Riled

When the truth was revealed, different peeps had different reactions.

Diane and Jack stand by their deception but they regret causing the family any pain. Diane tries to make it up to Traci and Ashley when they go out for a drink. Diane tries to cut the tension with a toast, and in the end the Abbott sisters don’t hate their evening.

Meanwhile, another person who faked her own death, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), shows up at Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) cozy cottage.

Phyllis accuses Sharon of lying under hypnosis in order to stay out of prison. But white knight Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) comes to Sharon’s rescue and tells Red to vent her spleen elsewhere.

The Young and the Restless spoilers: Nick Defends Sharon

Nick and Sharon were enjoying a Christmas party with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) when Phyllis so rudely interrupted. As soon as the menace is gone, they go back to caroling.

Elsewhere, Phyllis puts on a happy face and may try to cheer up her grieving son Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei).

Y&R spoilers: Phyllis Storms in on Sharon

Will Phyllis resist the urge to tell Daniel and Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) all about Sharon’s stunning hypnosis reveal? It’s not exactly cheery news, but when has Phyllis been demure?

Finally, on The Young and the Restless, Jack Abbott gives Kyle a special Christmas present. Will Kyle accept the gesture with good grace, or is he still feeling cantankerous about Diane not moving out of his office soon enough?

However Kyle feels about Diane, he and Jack have a nice bonding moment and Jack needs a little respite from family drama right about now.
