Apparently, The Foreign Office is feeling frustrated over the fact that the Prince of Wales is refusing to travel on state business. And that’s something the future king of England simply doesn’t want to do anymore, with or without someone else by his side.
While Prince William doesn’t mind heading to Germany to watch soccer games or visit Paris for the reopening of Notre Dame, he just doesn’t want to shake hands and greet people for five consecutive days on state trips like the royals often do.
It goes without saying that the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “Sometimes, I wonder if our criticism is superficial and there might be more depth to William behind the scenes, but it looks like we’ve got a pretty good handle on who William really is.”
Another critic wrote, “If the future head of state refuses to do state-related work/travel, and proudly and repeatedly claims that he didn’t read his briefing notes, it’s time to get rid of said future head of state, and the whole institution.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Maybe this is the best way for the British royal family to go. A natural demise. William rendering the whole thing irrelevant and not fit for purpose.”
“Then he can go be a rich landowner without the stigma of being deposed or whatever.”
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter just yet.
