According to the latest reports, Donald Trump and French president Emmanuel Macron meet up in France with multiple very intense handshakes. The two men were seen handshaking before returning for another intense handshake.
The meeting comes during Trump’s visit to France for the reopening ceremony for the renovation of Notre Dame Cathedral.
“[Macron] did a wonderful job ensuring that Notre Dame has been restored to its full level of glory, and even more so. It will be a very special day for all!” Trump said after accepting the invitation.
Not only that, but it’s also been noted that the handshake battle between Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron continues. Their handshake at the Notre Dame Cathedral lasted for 17 seconds, coming short of their previous record of 29 seconds.
Of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some fans and critics even commented, “Whether one loves or hates Trump – he is a negotiator from the handshake onward.”
“I’m not a fan as some are but I do admit that the US needs that kind of leader right now.”
Another critic wrote, “Very few understand the psychology behind a handshake and how it is a way of establishing dominance of done correctly. It’s quite fascinating.”
“But if I was a French citizen I would be looking for an upgrade in Presidential timbre to compete with the more powerful models in the world – like ours. I mean, the leader of a failed government? He doesn’t need to know who is boss. His people already told him.”
And then there was this comment as well: “2000 years ago after such a handshake they would sit in their lounges and watch their own gladiators fight.”
