Donald Trump and Prince William are setting a new tone together like no one else has done before them. The two men met today while at the reopening of Notre Dame in Paris. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
It’s been noted by the media that Prince William is doing what the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, and the Prime Minister of the UK could not do – and that’s greet and sit down with President-Elect Trump, in a meeting to discuss UK/US relations in the future.
A lot of people are even applauding Prince William as he continues to lead and top every poll in front of Royals and UK leaders alike with his ability to show respect, good nature and be a diplomat representing the interest of the UK on the world stage, regardless of who he meets.
It goes without saying that the internet sure did have a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “We used to have statesmen, not politicians. That’s what sets William apart. He’s a throwback to the days where you knew you weren’t representing simply yourself, but your nation.”
Another critic wrote, “Prince William is a future leader who will do big things. President elect Trump will do big things to create no wars. That’s good for us and the UK and the world.”
“A country cannot just choose to ignore a president because you do not personally like him. Politics is a job. it is not a popularity contest and leaders need to grow up and do their job while keeping their personal opinion aside.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Glad this Royal had the character and intelligence to show respect to the most significant and influential leader in the world today. He would have been a fool not to but of course we know Prince William is the pride of his grandmother. Nice to see this.”
“I LOVE how Trump casually matched his tie to the walls. Nod and wink to Melania, who knows these things.”
