Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for her, it just did. Ellen DeGeneres’ UK mansion hit by floods just weeks after she fled the United States following Trump’s win. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Per the latest reports, DeGeneres’ 43-acre, multimillion dollar property is “swamped” from raging floods. Locals say everything is under 5 feet of water.
“The flood waters are rising by the hour. This is the worst I have seen in years,” said a local resident.
The house is a six bedroom, four bathroom farmhouse converted into a modern luxury home.
The incident apparently happened after DeGeneres moved to Great Britain, saying she is “never coming back” to the US after Trump’s election win, according to The Wrap.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the complete truth. DeGeneres herself was forced to set the record straight over what really happened to her new home. She shut down the rumors her U.K. farmhouse flooded while celebrating her 20th anniversary with wife Portia de Rossi.
Ellen wrote on Instagram, “P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood.”
It’s been reported that DeGeneres left America for good last month and just after it was announced that Donald Trump had won the presidential election over Kamala Harris.
“Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi have moved to rural England, put their Montecito estate on the market and plan to never return to the United States, telling friends the election of Donald Trump was their primary motivation,” reported The Wrap.
It’s been noted that DeGeneres also failed to make a Hollywood comeback prior to her move by bombing every stand-up show she scheduled this year.
