According to the latest reports, Trump reportedly told Justin Trudeau that if his tariffs destroyed Canada, the country should become the 51st state and Trudeau could be governor.

Yikes. Fox News put it this way, “We’re getting some new details about that Trump-Trudeau dinner from two people who were at the table.”

“We are told that when Trudeau told President-Elect Trump that new tariffs would k*ll the Canadian economy, Trump joked to him that if Canada can’t survive without ripping off the US to the tune of $100 billion a year, then maybe Canada should become the 51st state and Trudeau could become its governor.”

Of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some even commented with, “This is the type of diplomacy I am happy to have back. They would no longer be allowed to measure anything in maple syrups. Mandatory transition to bald eagles.”

Another critic wrote, “It’s absolutely hilarious to hear that Trudeau thinks that tariffs would destroy our economy while he continues to increase taxes on Canadians every year with the carbon tax and more recently the capital gains tax increase.”

“And this is why the American people love him. He is an absolute legend that will not back down and is fighting every day for the American people.”
