That’s what a lot of fans and critics alike can’t help but wonder as Kamala Harris’s daughter Ella Emhoff was spotted shaking before bursting in tears while on the red carpet this past week. According to reports, Ella was spotted getting extremely emotional at the New York CFDA fashion awards. And of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter.

Some even commented with, “The problem with these people is they’ve never had a real struggle in their life. Not one!”

“In a sane world, both of these people would be locked away in mental asylums, but in our world they are somehow prominent and respected. Never forget that 48% of the country voted for that nonsense.”

Another critic wrote, “At this point, with all the awful stuff going on in the world, I’m not really interested in this young girl and what fashion she is into. I wish no harm on her; she clearly has enough problems to deal with.”

Meanwhile, after the election Ella had to set the record straight about a rumor suggesting that she had a mental breakdown after it was announced that Donald Trump had won the presidency. 

Clearly, that wasn’t the case as Ella herself had to take to her Instagram account to write: “There’s a rumor about me having a mental breakdown and getting checked into a hospital. Not true.”

“Also f–k you if you’re out there spreading that. There’s nothing wrong with showing emotion and crying. Anyone who says there is probably needs a good cry,” the young woman continued.

“I’ve struggled with my mental health my whole life, and I’m not ashamed of it.”
