The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Claire Newman’s (Hayley Erin) talk with her grandfather and Diane Abbott’s (Susan Walters) offer to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) were important. Both halves of this new couple realized a Happy Thanksgiving as a result.

Claire’s unsettled feelings had to be addressed. Her knowledge of the betrayal Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) suffered became a potential sticking point.

However, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) explained himself and used a standard emotional fallback, referencing his time in an orphanage.

Kyle’s arrival at the Abbott mansion was welcomed. His realization of his breakthrough with Diane happened the day prior and allowed him to logically justify spending time with his parents on one of the biggest family days of the year.

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) wasn’t the direct target of his son’s wrath. Diane held that unwanted spot in recent months. So, Jack found himself as a middleman and negotiator.

Jack’s recent talks with Kyle, especially when Mealor’s character believed Diane was reinforcing her abandonment behavior, were significant. That recent period in this storyline allowed Kyle to commiserate with his father, which was also part of Jack and Diane’s master plan.

It was a shame that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) wasn’t at the house for Thanksgiving dinner. But Jack’s inability to tell Billy why he couldn’t rehire him at Jabot was the wedge issue that kept the Abbott family’s now solely alienated members out. Hopefully, that changes soon.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman Knows How To Schmooze

Referencing the orphanage years is a technique that Victor has often used. He’s not exaggerating when commenting on how hard that was, but there is no doubt that he uses the intended emotional response for his persuasive benefit.

Consider Claire’s reaction. She’s just getting to know her rediscovered family and taking in all the Newmans represent. Claire was touched by Victor’s recanting of his childhood hardship and felt that his sharing that with her was special.

The added touch of mentioning Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) challenging year was also purposeful. As was true of Victor referencing his boyhood years, Nikki’s struggles were intended to explain the reasons why he deceived Lily.

Claire appeared to balance the explanations she heard with an awareness that business decisions are transactional when announcing that she will be working for her grandmother at Chancellor.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Another Family Wedding In The New Year?

Kyle and Claire are a long way from getting married. They are also far from a reasonable engagement proposal or the acceptance of one.

However, they share genuine feelings. Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) knows this reality and may be gearing up to make another run at Kyle now that she’s turning away from Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd).

Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) celebrated the first family wedding in the new Ranch House. It’s not a stretch to believe that this time next year, Claire could marry Kyle, though that likely wouldn’t happen on Newman ground.
