Someone is certainly getting the work done. President-Elect Donald Trump is celebrating yet another major win even before getting into office. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
According to the latest reports, Trump says Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum has agreed to close the Southern Border by stopping migrant caravans after he threatened her with 25% tariffs.
Sheinbaum also agreed to create a plan for stopping the inflow of drugs into the U.S.
Just earlier in the week, Sheinbaum scrambled after Trump vowed to slap 25% tariffs on Mexico, says she has always shown willingness to help fight the fentanyl epidemic.
During a press conference, Sheinbaum said she was writing a letter to Trump. The president said she would be advocating for dialogue and cooperation.
“To one tariff will come another and so on, until we put our common businesses at risk,” Sheinbaum feared.
The statement comes as a migrant caravan is reportedly headed to the southern border.
Of course the internet certainly has had a lot to say about the matter.
Some even commented with, “Didn’t she brag on how she wasn’t going to fall in line with anything Trump says? They’re always emboldened until you hit them where it hurts.”
Another critic wrote, “Like nearly every other trading partner, she doesn’t understand the power dynamic. We’re buying. They’re selling. We can buy elsewhere. They can’t sell anywhere else but the United States. No market is big enough to replace us. Tit for tat tariffs? I don’t think so.”
“Funny how having a strong president-elect in the US can do more to help America than four years of a weak president.”
And then there was this comment as well: “She will stop the illegals from coming into Mexico and walking to the southern border or the American people alone will put a stop to anything across that border! It is amazing, that Trump has not even taken office yet but is making a difference.”
