Whoopi Goldberg Admits That She Doesn’t Have Any Money

While having Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the show, Whoopi said that she can relate to the struggles of the working class in America.

She said, “I appreciate that people are having a hard time, me too — I work for a living! If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, OK? So, I’m a working person, you know?”

The former Hollywood actress continued, “My kid has to feed her family. My great-granddaughter has to be fed by her family. I know it’s hard out there. I love what [Ocasio-Cortez] did. Yay. We talk to people all the time who say, ‘This is what’s bothering me.’ But the thing that’s bothering everybody should not be the thing that puts 85% of other people in danger. I think that’s what we’re saying.”

It goes without saying that the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter.

Some even commented with, “Should we start a GoFundMe for the poor sack? Ignoring  the fact for a moment that this wealthy tv personality has no self awareness or humility, how is this news?”

What’s Next For Whoopi Goldberg?

“Someone announced that they are going to work for a paycheck. Trying to make it sound like she’s barely getting by making $30,000/year.”

Another critic wrote, “She makes MILLIONS a year for God sake. I hate The View for this very reason. They are all so out of touch. Absolute garbage heap of a show.”

“I’m sure Whoopi has had times before she was famous where she struggled, so she has some perspective, but this was hard to stomach. I did the math and it would take me 133 years at my current pay rate to make what she makes in 1 year. Tone deaf is being kind.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Two words come to mind: tone deaf. Whoopi is worth $60 million; she makes a mere $8 million a year on The View; she owns an Italian Villa in Italy; a lavish apartment in NYC and she thinks she’s a member of the working class. Give me a break!!!!”

“Whoopi can live off her residuals in almost any state in America or overseas. It’s a shame that neither of them heard what EVERYONE else and millions Americans said. People are tired of just surviving constantly being ignored and being told they’re replaceable.”
