She’s made her decision and she’s not turning back. The Young and the Restless alum Eva Longoria has announced that she is leaving America and not coming back. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
According to the latest reports, Eva Longoria reveals she has ‘fled’ the U.S. and is now living in Mexico and Spain. And it’s all because Donald Trump has been elected the new president of the United States.
The actress called America ‘dystopian’ while blaming Trump as one of the reasons she has left.
She said, “It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office. If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place.”
It goes without saying that the internet certainly has had a lot to say about the matter.
Some have even commented with, “Funny how she doesn’t mention losing her Hollywood restaurant under democratic leadership. Well at least she picked a country where there is absolutely no corruption in government!”
“Trust me when I say this: Nobody cares what she does. No one is even going to notice she’s gone.”
Another critic wote, “The unmitigated gall of these people. They’ve been preaching to us about the evils and inequities of ‘privilege’ for years, but don’t hesitate to use their wealth and fame and ‘privilege’ to suit their own needs when, where, and how they deem necessary. Give me a break.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Mexico… So much more politically stable and much safer, I hear… More than 30 political assassinations in the last 365 days. Good choice. And Spain is in the middle of a leadership recall.”
“America made her wealthy and famous. If she cared about the country, she would stay and fight for what she thought was right. Leaving is cowardice.”
So far Eva Longoria herself has not made any additional comments about her departure just yet.
